Debbie's family has been farming this land since the early 1950s, starting out with cattle and egg production. Today the farm has shifted to mostly small farm animals, produce, and fruit.
Lattin's is a family-run, woman-owned farm. While not certified organic, they've always grown with little to no pesticides, reaching for chemical controls only when nothing else works — which, most years, means they don't use anything at all.
Practices
Before working with the Food Hub, they had cut back on what and how much the farm was growing. They're still working out what to grow and in what quantities to fit the Hub's platform, but the partnership has given them a reason to grow more again.
At the heart of Lattin’s is a commitment to good land stewardship, with the hope of passing the farm down to future generations.
